On November 10th, more than 50 Fran Coy's employees and their dates celebrated the opening of the new salon and spa. Employees also recognized Fran with a plaque and presentation for the many years of training and guidance she's given them over the years. In the more than 30 years since opening Fran Coy's, Fran has trained over 30 stylists, many of whom are still working with her. Those that moved on are among some of the top stylists in the area, some of which have successful salon's of their own now. (e.g. Gemini Salon in Chelsea, Hair's Everything in Chelsea).

After more than a year of construction, Monday, October 22nd marked the first day Fran Coys Stylists were able to work in their new Salon space. At nearly 2,200 sq. ft., the 16 station salon has a an open grid ceiling plan, painted spiral ductwork, skylights and wall mounted chemical processors that gives it a spacious, contemporary feel. This theme is continued throughout the more than 1000 sq. ft. entry foyer that where seating and product displays are located. "Today's consumers are all about the experience", says John Coy, Owner and General Manager. "By combining a spacious, uncluttered floor plan with warm colors and natural light, we've created a space you just want to be in. We finally have a facility that can do justice to the talent we have here at Fran Coy's. It's a beautiful thing!" The next phase involves remodeling and integrating the old space, which will include, a color bar open to the new salon, a nail salon, and a smaller hair studio, that can be used as a bridal suite, will be included in this next phase. Anticipated time for completion is April '08.
